Q&A #3

Q: What is each of yours least favorite part about the creation of videos? Any specific thing?
A (Fröy): The prep work probably. I don't normally play much Sims outside of making the videos, so it can take me quite a while to figure how to make certain things happen. And finding the right mods for certain projects can be really difficult. If I need a very specific kind of lot/building and I simply can't find it anywhere, my only choice is to build it myself. Not only is it time-consuming, but my skills in build mode are horrendous.
A (Llunkttut): Definitely the sound effects. I'm enjoying myself when I'm cutting and adding music and see the video coming together, but once it's time for sound effects all I want to do is put it off. It's boring and time consuming. Especially when I don't have any fitting SFX for sex, and have to find some - that can sometimes take hours, and lemme tell you: watching porn for hours when you don't actually wanna watch porn is NOT fun.

Q: Are you planning to return to the topic of post-apocalyptic fantasy or SciFi (androids) - I must admit that for me they are the most interesting
A: We have several sci fi and fantasy projects planned. Right now, we are working on an idea for a dark sci fi project.

Q: random question but are you guys stephen king fans? some of your storytelling style remind me of him sometimes is why i ask XD
A: We are, actually! We've both read a lot of his stuff, and although we're rarely inspired by him directly some influence is bound to sneak in somewhere.

Q: Any topic that catch your interest lately? I feel a Superhero theme movie would fit perfectly with a The Boys like style. But is there any other theme you want to explore?
A: We've been talking about a superhero comedy series for a while, but it's hard to say when that will actually come to fruition. It would probably be more of a superhero parody rather than a dark/violent story like The Boys.

Q: Any plans on more family drama/thriller content? In homes like these and our loved ones are definitely your best ones.

A: It's a topic we enjoy (and family stuff kinda comes naturally with The Sims functioning the way it does) and we do have a shorter story planned which we will begin to work on after Final Climax is released.

Q: How do you make the setting for each films? They look very different to base game. Do you use a build mod?
A (Fröy): It very much depends on the setting itself. Sometimes, if it requires a fancy building, I usually try to download it from one of the modding sites (and usually spend an ungodly amount of time trying to find one that actually works for my purposes). If the setting is too specific for that I usually make it myself (and spend even longer on it).

Q: Is there any series or story that allowed you to use all of the sims 4 mod-sex animations that are available to you? You often have a note in the credits saying not all animations make it into final video presentations.
A: That note is honestly a bit of laziness on our part. It's put there to include credit to the creators of the animations we actually ended up using without having too keep track of exactly which ones were used.
It's much easier with stuff like music, which is always there for Llunkttut to double check for the credits, but animations used during recording are much harder to keep track of accurately. With how long and complicated the recording process can get, not to mention the delay which usually happens until editing starts, it would be very difficult to remember and keep track of what animations were used where, especially when Llunkttut has to get extra creative with the editing and basically fuse several different animations together for the more specific moments.
Due to all this we just include basically all animators we have downloaded animations from, rather than the ones we have used specifically for that video.

Q: Already told you about this, but I notice lot of your movies share a same universe (Own piece of nothingness, Seldom Point, Place called Paradise, Samantha Besley, Fuck the system, Agent Fatale). What can you tell us about this? You keep that in mind when it comes to write new movies? Would you be willing to give us some chronology of this?
A (Fröy): Yeah, over time many of our projects have developed some connecting tissue with each other. It wasn't planned initially, but it just ended up that way. I enjoy writing callbacks, easter eggs and the like, and I also find the idea of several different stories being interconnected to be quite interesting. We're basically creating our own little multiverse in a way. Maybe in the future I could write a post that goes over exactly how everything is connected.

Q: When is the next episode?
A: Well, that depends on what you're referring to. We never really have a specific time-frame for releases, but we do tease every upcoming project here on the blog when it's nearing completion.
At the moment, the next video is Agent Fatale: Final Climax which we're hoping to release within a couple of weeks.

Q: Would you be wiling to try making movies on others Sims like games? Inzoi prob the best one I can think. I know the modders community may not be as big as Sims 4, but would you be wiling to try storytelling on different games?
A (Fröy): I actually tried Inzoi a little bit when it was first released, and unless the game has gotten some extensive optimization patches it wouldn't be possible with that game. It ran terribly on my PC.
I have been curious about using other games for recording though, namely Conan Exiles and Fallout 4, but that would involve learning how to do it in a satisfactory way in those games - and considering how long it's taken me to get used to The Sims 4 that feels like it would only happen far in the future, if ever.

Q: How you feel about the Patreon idea? I'm happy and really grateful we can get all this content for free. But if you guys decide to open something, I would support you for sure.

A: We prefer to keep our videos non profit and freely available for everyone. Too much online is hidden behind a paywall as it is these days.
We're also not entirely comfortable with making money (even indirectly) on things that consist so much of other people's work: The game itself and its assets, animations and CC created by other people, other people's music etc. Making money from it would feel too much like vulture behavior.
We do appreciate the support though!

Q: Would you be open to commissions? Just for the plot. The dialogue and editing will be originally yours.
A: Unlikely. Of course it could be possible in the future, but ever since we started doing this years ago we've had a list of planned project that we're going through, and that list is constantly expanding. Apart from that, we also enjoy the freedom of coming up with our own ideas. It makes the process more enjoyable to us.

Q: Which potential returning characters you have in mind right now? I remember you tell about the Witch and maybe The Order, but is there any more? I would love to see the Fogwood Family as part of your share universe. Even if is only as some cameos, would really like that.
A: We're certain Jordan Eagle will return at some point. There are other main characters that could make a comeback too, like Samantha Beasley, Dínlen from Noblian Chronicles and Taylor from Bloodties. Other than that, there might be other characters that show up in minor cameos too, especially since (like previously stated) many of our stories have a shared universe.

Q: are you worry people will misunderstand your message for these some movies?
A: That's always a possibility. There are some wild interpretations floating around sometimes, but that's just how it goes. There's no controlling how other people choose to interpret things.

Q: For some custom animations, do you make it personally or buy them from creators?
A (Fröy): While it would make my life ten times easier, I never make custom animations for the videos, because I simply don't know how. I'm limited to whatever animations I find online for free, which unfortunately can be very limiting. There have been numerous times where I've been forced to rewrite parts of scripts because the original idea I might have had wasn't possible with the animations available.

Q: How do you edit the facial expressions during WW animations, for example sad facial expressions? What I find is when I do a WW animations, the facial expressions does the default.
A: We don't make any edits to the animations themselves. The expressions are always dependent on the animations. Sometimes, depending on what mood we're trying to set for the scene, we might alter between two different animations (one for faraway shots and a different one for the closeups of the face) throughout the scene. This is why we often reuse the same animations, since those are the only ones that work for the tone.
If your facial expressions are always default/neutral no matter the animations used it might be caused by a bug.

Q: Are there any plans to have non-humans have sex with the girls, like the orcs from Noblian series, or aliens or demons?
More specifically will we ever see Noblia make a return or is that universe done now?
A: Sims 4 is a bit limited when it comes to creatures, but there might be some of that for the appropriate series/movies going forward. One recurring plot seen in videos like The Black Box of Wishes and Book of Lies are these eldritch sex demons, and they are likely to return eventually.
Noblia will most likely come back at some point, that world is still close to our hearts and took a very long time to create.

Thank you all for your questions, hopefully you found the answers to be satisfactory!
We'll likely do another one of these at some point in the future.

Quick update

 Hi everyone.
We're currently working on our next project, which looks like it could be a pretty big one.

Fröy has recently finished the recording process (including footage for two short add-ons) and has sent the material to Llunkttut. As per usual these days, it's difficult to say how long the editing process is going to take, but he will try to get it done as soon as possible.

In other news, we've been discussing switching from rendering the videos in 60 FPS to 30. Part of the reason is to try and lower the file size as much as we can, which seems to be necessary with the issues we've had with rendering lately. We also feel like it would look a little more "cinematic", where 60 FPS tends to look more like gameplay footage. To our eyes, 60 FPS makes everything look a little bit... off?
We're still not sure if we're gonna go that route, but in case we do we figured we might as well mention it here. If you as a viewer feel like 30 FPS would make the videos unbearable, then speak now or forever hold your peace.

And, a sidenote: Thank you all for the responses to our recent post about our production. We got a lot of useful info from that, both here and in DMs. We're always looking to improve, and stuff like that could really help.

Talk to you all soon!
