The Mansion Game is a 8 episode erotic mystery/thriller web series, following six young women who get an invitation to a game hosted by the mysterious Mr Vindictae, who has promised them that a chest filled with money and the key to the front door is hidden somewhere inside his mansion. Finding the key is the only way for any of them to leave. What seems like a fun game soon takes an unplesant turn when the girls realize they’re not alone in the house - and that this masked stranger has something very sinister and filthy in mind.
Production
The production started about a week after the release of Patient 04. The editing was done with all the material recorded, and the entire series was done by the time Episode 1 was released.
Trivia
- The story is inspired by the mission 'Whodunit?’ in the video game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion by Bethesda Game Studios, which in turn was influenced by the novel 'And Then They Were None’ by Agatha Christie. In the game, several people are locked inside a mansion with the promise of a chest containing the key and riches being hidden somewhere inside. It’s the player’s mission to kill the guests one by one.
- Another connection to 'And Then They Were None’ is the end credits track that is played in all but two episodes, which is originally from the video game adaptation of the novel.
- The series was initially meant to consist of 10 episodes, 2 of which being “fillers” without sex scenes that were only meant to show more of the personalities and backgrounds of the different girls. Their increasing fear and sorrow due to being trapped and used would also be shown. These episodes were scrapped, since it was assumed that viewers wouldn’t enjoy watching a video without any sex scenes.
- Fröy’s favorite episode is Episode 7, having a soft spot for Laura.
- Hollow Hall is an altered version of the Von Haunt Estate in the game, with an additional floor and many other details to make it look worn out added to it. It was also placed in a different location in the game.
- This was the second apperance of Laura Cresswell in a Cumagical Studios work, having been the titular character in the three-part movie 'Laura, the Exchange Student’. She would later return as a single mother in 'Laura: A Mother's Sorrow'.
- Episode 4 was the first video made by Cumagical Studios that only features a lesbian sex scene.
- The Masked Man’s motivations were highly inspired by the incel movement, which according to Fröy made him “an instant villain.”
- In the series finale, during the scene in the café, a red haired woman can be briefly seen in the background. Her name is Denise Cresswell, and is Laura’s in-game cousin.
- Llunkttut’s favorite girl is Jaqueline.
- The girls probably should have realized what Mr Vindictae was after considering his alias. “Vindictae” is Latin for “Revenge”.
