Love Is For the Brave (Info page)

Love Is For the Brave is a sequel to the three part movie My Own Piece of Nothingness, and follows Abbie after she left her home town with Jimmy and his punk gang. After yet another disappointment she ends up homeless in California, where she meets Nasrin - a kind and free-spirited young woman who might just be exactly the kind of person Abbie needs in her life.

Production

"My Own Piece of Nothingness" was not originally meant to have a continuation, but was instead left open-ended because that is how Fröy generally likes to end most stories. However, since he liked the character of Abbie so much, he started writing the script for the sequel almost immediately.
Unlike most other stories, "Love Is For the Brave" was written without any sex scenes in mind. These were later added where they would fit in the context of the story. Instead, it was written specifically to show what happens to Abbie in California, and to give her a happy ending that Fröy felt like she deserved.

Trivia

  • In My Own Piece of Nothingness, Abbie was originally meant to have dreadlocks and a nose piercing, but her appearance was overhauled ahead of recording. These features were instead given to Nasrin.
  • Nasrin is of Iranian and Indian descent.
  • Nasrin has a fascination with space, evident from many of her tattoos being space themed. There is also a carpet in her bedroom depicting the different lunar phases.
  • The bird tattoo that Abbie gets is meant to symbolize her flight from one part of her life to the next.
  • For the sake of convenience, the arcade hall and dance club that Abbie and Nasrin can be briefly seen in were built inside Nasrin's apartment building.
  • While it never comes up in the movie, Nasrin works as a make up artist.
  • During the sex scene with Nasrin, Abbie is moaning from pleasure for the first time, while previously she would sound uncomfortable.
  • Abbie is bisexual, while Nasrin is gay.
  • There is a short post-credits scene.
