CTRL+Z tells the story of how student Itsuki Sugimoto realizes he can enter the Ctrl+Z command in his head in order to fix mistakes made in real life. He starts using the power to make his dirtiest fantasies come true.
Production
Recording started a couple of days after the release of ‘The Mansion Game - Episode 1′, and didn’t actually have a script initially. It was always planned to be a homage to hentai, featuring Japanese characters taking place in a school (a very typical setting for hentai). It was mainly meant to be sex scenes and very little else. However, this soon changed into what Ctrl+Z would eventually become.
Trivia
- The subtitle ‘時間旅行の倒錯’ translates into ‘Time travel perversion’.
- It is the only censored video by Cumagical Studios. This was not done by necessity, but was rather an artistic choice. It was done as a homage to the hentai genre.
- The idea to use genital censoring came after the recording was done. In other words the camera work wasn’t done with this in mind, and Llunkttut struggled significantly with shakiness, zooms and other things making editing very tricky. He repeatedly asked for the censoring to be skipped entirely, but was denied. It is unknown whether he will ever forgive Fröy for this.
- The sound of the characteristic school chime was recorded by Llunkttut on his synth.
- A scene where Itsuki walks into the girls bathroom with two of them comparing breast sizes - expressing jealosy of the principal’s very large breasts - was discarded to shorten runtime.
- The story was initially meant to be much more lighthearted, more like a comedy than anything else, with Itsuki using his virgin excuse to have sex with all the girls in school and ending up in a ton of trouble because of it. The concept of his Ctrl+Z power came later, with Fröy wanting to tie it into a larger, overarching story involving Order X from 'Agent Fatale'. This meant having to go back and record additional material, like more shots of the women getting angry and/or looking scared by Itsuki’s advances.
- The song playing during the end credits ('Help Me' by Hako Yamasaki) is one of Fröy’s favorite songs of all time.
- The grunts and breathing of Itsuki is actually the voice of Adult Link in the video game ‘The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time’.
- Even though you only see about 10% of it in the finished movie, the school was a massive build. It had a total of nine classrooms, and many more additional rooms that you would normally find at a school. The lot was three floors, and took up the entirety of the largest lot space in the Newcrest world in the game. It took around 3 days to build.
